Gorgeous Family…

Family Sessions are my favorite portrait sessions… and here is why- Mom’s put all the work into making it happen, getting their kids ready & this does include dad… ๐Ÿ™‚ coordinating clothing, getting themselves ready- hair and makeup. Keeping everybody happy- “We are going to get our family photo done and it is going to be “fun”. Smile, if you don’t when we get home you will regret it… LOL ๐Ÿ™‚ Seriously, we take all the work out of it for you guys so while you are in our hands it is time to let your hair down and look beautiful.

Day 1 of our master portrait workshop at Busath. I was first up and had to pose these guys…. nothing like having to work under pressure.

Emily & Eric’s Engagement Session

I really enjoy shooting engagement sessions. It gives all of us a chance to get to know each other before their big day. We talk about everything, how they met, where they went to school, what they do for fun, where they are now and where their dreams will take them tomorrow. For me it is also an wonderful time to express and push my creativity. Here I get fearless, up close and personal, different lighting techniques, backdrops posing and any new crazy idea I have been dying to try. My next shoot I want to do an old-timey bicycle shoot, you know the one where boy rides girl on his bike and it just the two of them in their own world.

Meet Emily & Eric- Emily is ” The Rad Girl Next Door”. She reminds me of Marlo Thomas from the seventies hit TV show, “That Girl”. She is the girl you “want” to bring home to meet your mother; beautiful, sweet, oh-so nice, smart, funny with an amazing non-stop smile, boys… she even throws a perfect spiral… (Click Here)… & then there is Eric- her better half. Eric is the prefect gentleman; charming, athletic and good looks to match… and he even let’s Emily win, sometimes.

This was a double day shoot- Day 1- was on St. Patty’s Day, March 17th. It started off with us just strolling and meandering throughout Old Town Alexandria on the cobblestone and brick streets. OTA is full of tradition, culture, and history, and there you can still find evidence of what was a once a hustling and bustling seaport town. Old Town was a tobacco trading post and the hometown to George Washington, Robert E. Lee, Jim Morrison and Mama Cass of the Mammas and Pappas 60’s Rock Band- (Still one of my faves!).

Finishing up the evening w/ a little snack break at Five Guys Burgers, outfit change and whole different direction…. The three of us had a great day! 76 degrees in the middle of March and hanging w/ my couple, doesn’t get much better than this….. Until …..

Are You Ready For Some Football? I SAID… ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

Day 2- We hit the Gridiron!

Sarah & Quang’s Wedding | Washington DC LDS Temple Ceremony

The Washington, DC Temple is one of the most beautiful of all the LDS Mormon Temples, and one of the if not the most beautiful buildings in the Washington, DC area. As you round the 495 beltway, the golden spires atop the beautiful white marble towers appear out of nowhere high above the tree tops reaching above to the blue skies, it is a magnificent sight to behold.

Sarah & Quang’s temple ceremony was gorgeous, sun filled- blue skies before them with family and friends gathering from all over the US to be a part of their wonderful day. Their ring ceremony and reception was held in at the Westfields Marriott, a gorgeous colonial styled hotel, nestled in the middle of a secluded area outside Chantilly, VA. If you did not know it, you would think you were in the middle of the country somewhere- not 5 minutes from 66.

Escorted down the aisle by her father, Bishop Barnard, Sarah was stunning. Bishop Barnard also acted as the celebrant over the ceremony which was both quite a special honor for both himself and his daughter, Sarah. Quang’s daughter, Hannah, is a talented pianist and singer. She played during the ceremony and then sang a beautiful duet for everyone. One amazing, talented young lady!

Toasts given by Quang’s uncle and aunt, and Sarah’s Father joined the two families together with love. And then the evenings festivities began with Sarah & Quang’s first dance- they were lovely. The DJ, Matt Hardy of Musical DJs kept everyone tip, tappin’ and jammin’ the entire night!

Congratulations Sarah & Quang. May your lives be filled with love and joy and God continue to bless your new marriage and family.

Kirstan Thomas - Are you located in or near the DC Temple? I am wondering about rates/packages for an LDS wedding in late January. My daughter is to be married there and would like pictures taken at the temple before they return to Lancaster, PA for the reception.
Thank you in advance.

admin - Yes and thank you for your interest. I will contact you.
